Winter Games Mixed Doubles Open Qualifier - winner will advance to the Winter Games Trials at the Guelph CC December 17-20, 2022.
*U20 Mixed Doubles: * October 28-30, 2022 (Friday start dependent upon number of teams entered) – Four open qualifiers (2 north, 2 south). One winner from each qualifier location in the North and three from each in the South will advance to the Winter Games Trials at the Guelph Curling Club, December 17-20, 2022. The winner of the Trials advances directly to the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island February 27 to March 5. Teams who place 2nd through 5th at the Trials will advance to the Ontario Winter Games, February 2-5 in Renfrew County.
Age Eligibility:
U20 Mixed Doubles – Under 20 as of June 30, 2022. Birthdate of July 1, 2022 or later.
Coach Certification Standards: All coaches will be required to complete Mandatory Training and have a valid Criminal Record Check on file with the Ontario Curling Council valid for the entire duration of the competition (qualifiers + provincials). Coaches needing to obtain a Criminal Record Check can do so online.
Only coaches with the standards outlined below will be granted on-ice access (practice/breaks/timeouts) during competitions.
U20 Mixed Doubles: Certified Competition Coach
Team Composition: Only athletes who are members of a CurlON or NOCA Affiliated curling club are eligible to enter the competition. Team members do not have to be members of the same curling club. Teams are welcome to play in any of the four open qualifiers. Age and gender rules for the disciplines apply as per discipline rules.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to rules in place at the Canada Winter Games, ALL athletes (12+) and coaches are required to be FULLY VACCINATED in order to compete.
