Women's Competition Coach Workshop (Sturgeon Falls) - Mar 1 & 2, 2025

This NCCP Competition Coach course is designed specifically for women as part of a gender equity in coaching initiative, aiming to empower female leaders in the sport. This program equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to coach competitive curling teams effectively.

Participants will learn:

Teaching & Learning
Skill Analysis
Practice Planning, including Safety and EAP (Emergency Action Plan)
Delivery & Brushing Skills
Drills for Correction

The Competition Coach workshop is designed for coaches working with athletes who are practicing and training together regularly. This immersive two-day workshop blends on-ice training with engaging classroom sessions to provide a comprehensive coaching experience.

Key Details:

Duration: Two days (includes both on-ice and classroom components).
Prerequisites: None, though a general understanding of the game is a plus.
Eligibility: Participants must be at least 14 years old to complete the training and can achieve certified status upon turning 16.

Led by experienced female instructors, this course offers a supportive, inclusive environment where participants can connect, share experiences, and build a strong network of women leaders in curling. Join us in breaking barriers and advancing women’s leadership in sport!

Ontario Curling Council programs are ONLY available to registrants of our member associations CurlON and NOCA and to registered members of out of province associations. If you are not a member of a CurlON, NOCA or sanctioned out of province association then this program is not available to you.

*PLEASE NOTE: In order to register, participants require an NCCP number. If you do not already have one, you will have to register with the Coaches Association of Canada. Instructions on how to get your NCCP number are on the Curling in Ontario website HERE.

"In Training" status will be awarded when a coach has completed the Curling Competition Coach Workshop.

"Trained" status will be awarded when a coach has completed the Curling Competition Coach workshop and the Make Ethical Decisions multi-sport workshop

In order to register for this workshop, individuals must complete a "Curler Profile".*
